Paul Weekley has a civil litigation practice that includes medical and dental malpractice cases, product liability actions, general casualty cases, commercial litigation matters, construction defect cases and general personal injury litigation matters. Mr. Weekley graduated from Wake Forest University and received his law degree from Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, Mr. Weekley served as a Federal Judicial Intern with Judge Elizabeth Kovachevich of the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida. He also won first place in two trial competitions: the Stetson Mock Trial Competition and Stetson’s Closing Arguments Competition. Mr. Weekley is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Weekley is a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. Christopher Schulte litigates a wide range of negligence matters, including professional malpractice, personal injury, and products liability, as well as commercial litigation matters. He also represents physicians and other professionals in licensing and staff privileging matters. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida, where he was a member of Florida Blue Key. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Schulte is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. He is Board Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and has also been named a Florida Super Lawyer by Florida Super Lawyers magazine, an honor held by only 5 percent of attorneys in the State of Florida. Jody Valdes graduated, cum laude, from the University of Florida and received his law degree from Stetson University College of Law. Mr. Valdes is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Valdes presently serves on the 13th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee. His practice areas include products liability, personal injury, commercial litigation, and general casualty. Jessica Dareneau graduated from Flagler College and received her law degree, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, she served as a law clerk with the Honorable Rex Barbas of the 13th Judicial Circuit. She served as student editor of the AARP’s Journal on International Aging, Law and Policy, was a member of Phi Alpha Phi, and received book awards in Employment Law and Contract Law. Ms. Dareneau is a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar, and the Hillsborough Bar Association. She also volunteers with Bay Area Legal Services.
Marshall Schaap attended the University of Florida on a football scholarship and later transferred to the University of Wyoming, where he completed his athletic career and received his undergraduate degree. He received his law degree from Stetson University College of Law. Mr. Schaap is admitted to practice in all Florida Courts, and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida Bar, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
A.S. "Gus" Weekley, Jr., M.D., is a physician-attorney who is a Board Certified general surgeon. After a 20+ year career as a general surgeon in Tampa, Dr. Weekley returned to school and obtained his law degree, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 1989. Dr. Weekley now practices healthcare law, representing physicians and other providers as defense or personal counsel in malpractice cases, Medicare refund audits, license acquisitions, licensing discipline issues, hospital staff privilege matters, and Department of Health actions. He is a certified healthcare risk manager, a certified circuit mediator and the past Chair of the Health Law Section of The Florida Bar. Prior to entering the practice of law, Dr. Weekley maintained a surgical practice in Tampa, where he chaired the Department of Surgery at University Community Hospital and at Tampa Bay Community Hospital, where he was later elected Chief of Staff. His memberships include the Florida Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the American Bar Association, Fellowship in the American College of Legal Medicine, Hillsborough County and Florida Medical Associations, American Medical Association, National Health Lawyers Association, and the American Society of Law and Medicine. Dr. Weekley has authored numerous publications in the healthcare field.
